Description
Botanical name: Rhododendron obtusum 'Melina'
German name: Japanese azalea 'Melina'
 
This hardy, richly flowering variety bears double, purple-pink flowers with a wavy edge when it is in bloom.
The healthy, dark green foliage lasts very well over the winter.
Melina grows densely and flat and after 10 years only reaches 30 cm in height and 60 cm in width. The final size is around 80 cm in height and 150 cm in width.
