Evergreen. Medium-high species from Sichuan. There it grows in tree and shrub vegetation at 3000 to 3500 m. Shrub-like growth up to 3 m. Leaves 2 to 3 cm wide and 5 to 8 cm long. Dark green on top, light grey-green underneath with brown scales. Flowers in groups of 2 to 6, broadly funnel-shaped, dark purple with brownish spots. Good winter hardiness.
