Evergreen, leaves narrowly lanceolate, 1 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, dark green, flowers terminal, corolla tubular, 2 cm long, purple. SE Tibet, at 4000 to 5000 m altitude. In open, stony, boggy areas, creeping, up to 10 cm high, carpet-forming alpine form from the Rh. keleticum, but growing even flatter and flowering later. During the growing season, Rh. radicans requires sufficient moisture. Thankful for the sunny location in the rock garden. Well hardy. The large flowers, which are solitary compared to the leaves, stand out nicely from the dark green carpet of foliage. End of May to mid-June.
