Evergreen. Broadly upright, compact growth. Shoots relatively thick and stocky.
Its natural habitat is open forests and scree at an altitude of 3300 to 4000m in Yunnan and Sichuan. Leaves are a lovely, fresh green, broadly oval with clearly visible veins. Slightly hairy underneath, slightly shiny. Buds are unusually pentagonal and thick. Flowers are white, covered in pink and carmine red spots, seven-lobed. Very compact stalk. Flowers only a few when young. Recommended due to growth, leaf shape and color. Good winter hardiness if not too open.
